Some Thoughts

Ok, first of all ... probably could get a bit more creative with the post titles ... eeesh.

Secondly ... I'm sorry I've been pretty absent here over the last few weeks.  I have things I want to write, but my thoughts are pretty fragmented and unable to come to post-worthy fruition.  So I'm waiting until things come together cohesively before I start clicking away at the keyboard.  I hope you understand.

In other news, this weekend I'm headed up to Hershey, PA for the Joyce Meyer conference.  I don't really know much about Joyce Meyer but I am pretty excited about this because it was a direct answer to prayer.  One morning I was crying out to the Lord (really, crying) and asking for a conference or something because I needed a good spiritual fill-up.  And, for good measure, I threw in something about possibly making it free, and then snickered at my own optimism.  My next moments involved googling the name of every major women's speaker I could think of and checking her speaking schedule.  Eventually I came across this one - amazing worship leaders scheduled, a manageable driving distance, the ability to stay with family, and ... free.

So I'm pretty excited about this conference.  I feel like the Lord took a gift box, wrapped it beautifully, tied a satin ribbon around it, and plopped it right in my lap.  I can't wait to open it ...

And who knows, maybe this is just the catalyst my writing needs.  At any rate, I'm sure you'll hear about this weekend soon.

And in other personal news ... check out our little Jedi knight's light saber practice:

And this "point of impact" ... not covered by our insurance.  Oh yeah.  Oh well ... moths and rust, moths and rust ...

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Tell me about you?  Has the Lord given you any special gifts recently?  Any specific answers to prayer?  Any unfortunate TV incidents?

  1. It seems like your little Jedi could do with a bit more practice in aim! :P

My hubby had a day off today, and it was just what I needed. We planned to go for a drive through the hills (only 10 mins from our place, but very scenic and lots of little towns to go through), have a picnic lunch, and just spend some good time together. Even though it would have been better financially if Marcus could have worked, the day together was just what I needed after a long two weeks.

That conference definitely sounds like a gift from God. I'll be praying it's all you need, and a touch more too :)

    1. Haha! Larissa you're so right! Main aiming strategy: don't hit things that cost way too much to replace haha!

That sounds like a really lovely day trip. I'm glad you enjoyed some rest and relaxation with your Hubby.

Thank you for the prayers ... <3

  2. well, once we had toddlers running around - we gave you our tv that they could reach and hung our new one high up on the wall;-) The rule in my livingroom is simply no throwing things. It's worked out so far:-) That old tv that you had - Brian cracked the screen with an air soft gun. Tv = trouble? who needs it. Haha;-) So excited for the conference, Sarah!! I hope you have a wonderful time!

    1. Haha, that's so funny!

We actually don't know if something was thrown or hit or what (neither Josh or I saw what happened until waaayyy after). And, wouldn't you know, Micah tried to pin it on a friend who came to stay with us two days after the incident happened. Ummm ... yeah. Nice try buddy!
