The Wordless Book

Jesus Christ means everything to me.  And in light of life events this past year, He means everything in a very tangible way.  He is, quite literally, the Rock on which I stand and all other ground - my own intuition and emotions, support from others, preconceived notions on a life plan - is sinking sand.  He is my light and my salvation, my joy and my hope, my peace and my very present help in trouble.

And so I would like to pose this question: what does Jesus mean to you?  I hope He means a great many things to you, but, most of all, I hope you can say that Jesus is your Savior.  And if you can't say that or are unsure if you can, I'd like to share a few words with you.

The wordless book has been used for centuries to bring people to Christ.  It is the Gospel story, the Good News of Jesus in it's simplest form.  I pray that your eyes will be opened and your heart will be soft to hear.

The black represents sin.  Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fall short of God's glory.  From a little white lie to murder in cold blood and everything in between, it's all sin, all bad, all acts that separate us from a perfect God.

Romans 6:23 states that the cost of these sins is death.  And not just death at the end of this life - death forever in the Lake of Fire (aka, Hell).  This is all terribly gruesome but keep reading ... it gets better.

Remember Romans 6:23?  For the wages of sin is death?  Well here is the second part ... but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God loved mankind so much and hated the sin that separated us from Him that He created a way for us to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.  His plan?  Send Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that we won't have to.

For God demonstrates His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8

Not only did Christ die for us and shed His blood so that we wouldn't have to pay the price for our own sins, He has given us the opportunity to be washed white as snow, to be made pure in the eyes of Almighty God, a fresh start, tabula rasa, blank slate.  If we accept Christ as Savior, God no longer sees our sin but rather, a pure heart made possible because of Jesus.  All we must do is accept what Christ did for us on the cross and invite Him to be Lord of our lives.

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:9.

The gold represents the streets of gold we will behold in Heaven if we indeed accept Him as Savior.  It will be an unbelievably breathtaking sight to see and experience, ours forever and ever.

But even more than the golden paths of Heaven, I look forward to what this verse describes: And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death or sorrow or crying.  There will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away (Revelation 21:4).

No more bad memories, no more pain, no more striving, no more guilt.  Only peace.  Perfect, perfect peace.

This is the Gospel message.  This is the way to Jesus.  And even more than I want you to know about Evie and the blessing she was (is!) and the lessons I have learned because of her, I want you to know about Jesus.  I want you to know about the Son of God who came to this earth to die on a cross for our sins, about the Champion who conquered death, and the King who now sits on a Heavenly throne and wants, oh so desperately wants us to join Him one day.  I want you to know Him and accept Him as your personal Savior, just like I did many years ago.  If you never remember my name or Evie's name or any of the cute things Micah has ever said, remember this: Christ loves you, He died for you, and He wants you to live with Him after this life is over.  His words: Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).

Rest for your mind here on earth.  Rest for your soul after this life you depart.  Rest eternally in an atmosphere of perfection.

Won't you come to Him?

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that anyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16

If you have never trusted Christ as your personal Savior and would like to do so now, I invite you to pray the following prayer:

Dear Jesus, I believe in You.  I believe that you died on the cross for me and rose the third day and are now in Heaven preparing a place for me.  I want to accept Your gift of everlasting life and spend eternity with You.  Please come into my life and save me from my sin.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Thank you so much for reading about my Jesus.  I hope you make the decision to choose Him if you haven't already.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me:
