I'm not sure about your area, but spring has definitely sprung here in southeastern Virginia. There are fresh green sprouts on all the trees, colorful little flower buds peeking through, and warm sunshine-filled days. Something about spring has always been exciting to me. Maybe it's reminiscent of my school days when spring meant the end of the school year and summer vacation were around the corner. I don't really know. At any rate, the arrival of spring has always put a happy little song in my heart.
And perhaps this spring especially. I am just now emerging from the winteriest of winters my soul has ever experienced. Never before have I felt winter on the inside as I did in the months following Evie's death.
So this spring feels special. The warmth and signs of new life outside truly feel symbolic of my own heart. Certainly I am still hurting and healing and miss Evie as much as ever, but I feel hopeful.
Winter has passed. Spring is here.
That's wonderful to read. Praying that your Spring is full of blessings!
