showing love giveaway!!

I hope you've been enjoying the "Showing Love" series.  These posts have certainly inspired me to be a better friend.  I am grateful for the women who have been sharing wisdom and for the ones yet to come!

Many of the posts have mentioned writing notes of encouragement and how much those notes helped in times of great need.  And so, to help you reach out to your friends in this way, I am giving away one set of 20 notecards ... hooray!  I am a sucker for cute stationary and I love receiving snail mail and I know many of you feel the same way.

Here are some pictures of your potential prize:

Five each of four different styles
Exciting, right?  Ok, so to enter just leave a comment telling about how you recently showed love to a friend or how a friend showed love to you and/or like my Life and Grace page on Facebook.

The giveaway will end next Friday 3/1 ... good luck!

  1. Yesterday a friend offered to bring me chicken soup, since I've got a cold;-) That was really lovely and made me feel well-thought of. I've really enjoyed this series and do take all the notes to heart. I generally try to just be as encouraging and available as possible to my friends, but sometimes more is needed, and these posts have been great.

  2. oops, I hovered over publish and it went away! Anyway, over my life time, I have been many of these (parents with health problems, friends with cancer, new mom, new to area) or I have known dear people with other situations (cancer, death, foster care). It has been wonderful to hear from people about what is important to them, or makes them feel loved. I kind of feel like whether from my personal experience or not, one can never take too many "good notes" on how to show kindness.

  3. aw. those cards are sooo adorable! :) well, this morning, someone sent me a simple little text just saying good morning and "I love you today". And since things have been stressful with our move and we are packing tonight and moving tomorrow. it was super sweet and nice to hear. it made me cry.

  4. I am getting to take care of my sis-in-law!! :) But I feel like she showed me love by taking a gamble and being vulnerable and honest with me about how things are really going.
A friend recently could tell I was struggling with something - and didn't even ask what it was. Instead, she just asked if she could pray with/for me right then. She prayed for peace, wisdom, and comfort....I felt like I was hugged by the Lord through her. It was a wonderful gift! :)

  5. The other day I baked an extra loaf of bread and took it to our neighbors. The man has a medical condition and requires constant care (he is also loves some good bread!)

  8. I recently had a miscarriage and my cousin/friend gave me a willow tree of a angel holding my baby... it is very sweet and my 3 boys love looking at it and thinking of our baby in heaven being held.

  9. A couple of weeks ago, I was going through relationship issues with a friend. Another dear friend of mine who I hadn't spoken to in awhile caught wind of my woes. She texted me that she was there for me if ever I needed anything. It was a small gesture, but it meant a great deal to me.

  10. My daughter helped me to prepare the table decorations for our missions banquet this week. I am not gifted in the "crafty" department and doing computer "tricks" takes me forever. Her help was encouraging and saved time for both of us and our laughter did my heart "good like a medicine".

  11. My husband took the girls away, fed them lunch, then came home and woke me up from my much needed nap after night shift with lunch in bed. I really needed the sleep and the lunch was just icing on the cake. I appreciate his thoughtfulness in regards to my needs.

  13. We are adopting and waiting for our referral call anyday- a friend sent me a text early in the morning to let me know she was praying for us as we are waiting.

My Mom has been sick with the flu/pneumonia so my girls and I made her soup, cough tea, fresh bread packed it in a basket with movies and lots of homemade get well love cards and drove it to her house.

  14. Our neighbors have a sweet little girl with special needs. They took her to the department store to try to have pictures taken, but the photographer didn't understand the little girl's limitations, etc. My husband does photography as a hobby and we offered to retake her photos for free since she knows us and would be more comfortable in her own surroundings. They came out GREAT! We were so happy to be able to give them these photos of their little girl!
