family fridays

This week has felt a little off.  There has been a lot of catching up to do after a weekend away - laundry, grocery shopping, unpacking.  And, Josh has been home more than usual due to some other school obligations (besides clinicals) this week.  Of course Micah and I have loved seeing our daddy so much!

Because I was away this weekend I decided time with Micah should be top priority.  We have played lots of playdough, watched lots of movies, bundled up and played outside, and, of course, engaged in some serious motorcycle play.  It's been fun.

I think my favorite thing Micah does nowadays is randomly come up and kiss me.  If I'm in the kitchen doing dishes he will randomly come up behind me, say "hi, mommy", squeeze my legs, plant a kiss on the back of my knee, and then run away.  I love that.

In light of losing Evie I am so, so thankful for my little boy.  I hope very much that, because of her, I am more patient and kind and loving in raising her brother.

This week I have been really thinking about my sweet little family - my wonderful protector/provider husband, my sweet and spunky little guy, and my baby girl that left us all too soon.  I love them all so very much and hope I am taking care of them and honoring them as best I can.

Well that's where my heart has been.  Thanks for checking in on us.  Hope you have a great weekend.

ps - I really hope to have some exciting things on the blog starting in February.  I have a series of guest posts planned from some wonderful women on how to show love.  And I will have my first giveaway!  Stay tuned ... it should be good!

I also want to mention that my friend Lauren from Traded Dreams is hosting a sponsor giveaway today, one item being a set of handmade Valentine's made by yours truly.  You can click here to enter.  And it can't be left unsaid that I actually do not pay for that ad spot.  Lauren does that for me out of the kindness of her heart.  What a great friend.  For any of you who don't know Lauren personally outside of her blog I want you to know she really is as good and sweet and kind and God-fearing as she seems.

OK, that's all I promise!  Have a great weekend <3
