beautiful things

Dear Jesus, please help me to trust that you are going to make something beautiful out of my pain.  It hurts oh so much and this promise is all that gets me through some days.  I can't wait to see what You have planned.  <3

ps ... the waiting part is hard

Ecclesiastes 3:11 - He has made everything beautiful in it's time.

  1. I'm not sure if you've heard this one before by Chapman, but it's my very favorite song.

  2. “There was a real railway accident,” said Aslan softly. “Your father and mother and all of you are–as you used to call it in the Shadowlands–dead. The term is over: the holidays have begun. The dream is ended: this is the morning.”

And as He spoke He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them. And for us this is the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.”

  3. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts. Your heart break is compounded by the radical physical changes your body must go through after child bearing and only time will even that out.

Already beauty that was once non-existent or suppressed, has surfaced. I wish I could paint a visual of words to describe how lovely you look to me in my minds eye. I see, many see, your Jesus shining through. But just because you wish to honorably represent Him through your trial, certainly does not exempt you from mourning and sorrowing. He, nor any, would ever expect anything less than deep emotion. For you, who is so dearly loved by Him, know the sweetest most precious love of all, and by knowing, also feel the deeper loss.

I can say these things, fully trusting God on your behalf, while also doubting I would shine nearly as steady as you are under such a trial.

Look forward, look up, look at what is now beautiful. Remember His help in the past. Remember you are loved, so much more than even your heart now loves.
