family fridays

Good week, good week.  Here's what we've been up to:

Josh has been staying late at the hospital almost every day, getting home just before Micah goes to bed around 7:30/8.  I honestly haven't really talked to him much this week ... but I assume it has been good?

Micah had a busy week with many playdates.  On Monday he went to the aquarium with Auntie Shell so I could go to an appointment.  Tuesday he went to the zoo with Mamma.  And Wednesday he went to the Mt. Trashmore park with YiaYia so I could go to my other appointment.  He had a blast and was definitely tired for his naps all three days!  And, as a personal note, I am so grateful to these wonderful women for taking care of my little boy.  What a blessing to know he can be left with any of them and be taken care of so well.  Truly invaluable.

Hanging out at the aquarium.  Isn't he handsome? <3

Micah's quote of the week:

Me: are you ready to put your shorts on?
Micah: (resting his face on his hands and tapping his head) hmmmm ... sink, sink, sink (think, think, think)

Oh the decisions in life! ;)

Evie is getting big!  She weighs in this week at 3 lbs. 14 oz.  At this point she seems to only be about two weeks behind what her weight should be ... not bad!  She'll definitely make it to 4 lbs.  Not sure when her weight gain will taper off (due to the lack of fluid and growing space), but so far so good.  Nothing has changed with her condition but, as the doctors put it, everything is stable.  I am grateful for that.

I am doing well.  I finally have a doctor to call my own, hooray!  Hooray for hopefully having someone who will remember me and not make me tell my Evie story over and over.  She seems nice and experienced and will hopefully make the last six weeks feel less ... cold.

So that's what we've been up to.  Thanks for checking in on us ... hope you have a great weekend.

  1. Micah showed an amazing feat of strength today. I was pushing him in the swing at Mike and Molly's house. Suddenly he said, "Uh oh." I didn't see anything wrong, then whoosh, his little posterior slipped out of the swing seat! But he clamped his mighty hands onto the ropes, swung like Tarzan with feet flying, and finally into my arms at the top of the upswing! I told him how strong he was and that he'd have to tell Mommy and Daddy all about it. That chin-up bar on your kitchen door seems to have done the trick!

  2. That David is a funny guy! And Micah, he's a great smile maker, like a rainbow when storms loom and linger. Thanking God with you for rainbows, promises and hope.
