baby number two FAQ

Ok, well maybe no one is really asking me a lot of questions, but here are some potential FAQ's to help ease your curiosity:

So, when is baby coming?

Anticipated due date is November 30th.  That puts me at about 6 weeks along.

Have you been sick?

Eh, a little nauseous.  But with Micah the real symptoms didn't set in until about week 8 so ...

Are you excited!?

Yes, it's a baby!  But I must admit I am a little more nervous this time around, probably because I know what to expect.

Was this planned?

So, do you want a girl this time?

Sure!  But I'd also love a boy.  Seriously, I am ok with either one.  I already know what it's like to have a boy, and I love it!  But c'mon ... pink headbands with giant flowers?  Yes, please!  Whatever this baby's gender is, I am excited for it either way.

Have you been to the doctor yet?

No.  It kind of makes me nervous that we told people before we made sure everything was developing well, but now more people can pray for me and tiny little baby bean.

I do want to add a few words on my personal thoughts (not just facts) on the situation.  When Josh and I decided to go ahead and have Micah, we prayed a lot about it and felt the Lord gave us a very clear "yes" answer.  This time it seemed a little trickier.  We still were praying, but instead of a very clear "yes" answer (which I, for the record, much prefer) it was more of a "why not" kind of answer.  There really were no good reasons to say no and so ... now we have a little one who will be here (Lord willing!) around Thanksgiving.  I think we made the right decision.

If you think of it, please pray for me and the little bean as he or she continues to grow.  Pray for Micah to adjust as a big brother.  When I asked him if he wanted to be a big brother he answered with a very emphatic "no!"  But he does that when you ask him any question that doesn't involve the word candy.  And pray for Josh as he balances school and studies and his growing family.

Thank you to everyone for your love and support and well wishes - it means a great deal to me!

This was right after we announced the news at my mother-in-law's birthday party.  Such fun emotions!

  1. so excited for you! The second one is a little more nerve wracking, since you know the trials and pain are coming down the road. No more blissfully ignorant "how bad could it really be" thoughts, right?:-) I was very nervous with Brooks. BUT just remember this: each preg and baby and birth are individual. There is no need to fear what will happen since really, it is like the first time again. Its the first time for this baby, and it will do its own thing, for sure. I think it'll all be great! So excited for you!!!! You're making me wish I had another snuggly baby too:-)

  2. so excited for you three! What a fun time in life.
